Originally, this filling machine was designed to run a different format of bottles, which required deep modification to every aspect of the machines to achieve good and stable production. Capital Automation was hired to retrofit and redesign the machine to accommodate a new format of bottles.
A very well-performing filling machine needed an update of the control system as the original PLC and control panel had become extremely unreliable, affecting the stability and predictability of the filling process. At that point, the filling machine had been running for over 25 years, and the PLC had become obsolete.
A new high-speed filling machine was purchased by the customer, which required an additional exit system. This system would have to carry the finished product out of grade A, inspect the bottles for quality with a vision system, perform laser etching for the required information, and distribute the good product to bins with a bin dispenser system.
