The Challenge:
A manufacturer supplying products for the healthcare industry needed to increase production capacity and improve the material flow within its manufacturing process.
The existing process required corrugated components to be transferred from large bulk containers into the next stage of production. To support higher production volumes, the customer needed an automated solution capable of continuously picking and feeding these components into the production line.






Our Solution:
Capital Automation designed and built a custom automated pick-and-place system specifically for this application.
The system automatically picks five corrugated components at a time from a large bulk container and transfers them onto a conveyor. The conveyor then moves the components to the next stage of the manufacturing process, where they are integrated with additional parts to create assemblies that ultimately support healthcare applications in hospitals.
The complete system was designed around the customer’s existing manufacturing process, providing controlled and repeatable material handling while increasing the amount of product that could be supplied to the downstream operation.


The Result :
The automated system increased production output while reducing the amount of manual material handling required in the process.
